Safe T Punch
Safe T Punch (STP) is a break glass emergency device that is currently being used as an emergency egress tool in homes and on buses in the UK, Europe, and South Africa. Safe T Punch is designed as a small red button meant to smash through glass and allow trapped passengers to escape from mobile equipment when the primary escape hatch is not usable or practical. The device has been approved by WorkSafeBC in British Columbia, Canada as a secondary means of escape in mobile equipment. It is the only emergency egress device rigorously tested by a UKAS accredited testing laboratory; Wintech Engineering Laboratory in the United Kingdom.

Safe T Punch is produced by ILR Safety CC and distributed by Safe T System Limited.〔 In early 2014, unique series of tests were carried out at Wintech Engineering Limited in the UK which involved developing bespoke methods of impact testing of emergency exit devices. The tests assessed the effects on various glass thicknesses using different Safe T Punch tools. The devices performed according to expectations. The latest models of STP are capable of destroying up to 28mm double glass units effectively, thereby turning any conventional double glass unit into an emergency exit.〔
So far, STP is reportedly common in the United Kingdom and in African countries, but it is yet to catch on widely in North America.〔 Safe T Punch won the Chairman’s Award in 2001 during the Design Institute South Africa's Award programme〔 and has received approval for use in British Columbia.〔
